This list exists because the products do, and they differ enormously. Some are sanctuaries and conservation centres where elephants are observed, fed and washed with no riding involved. Others are village and wildlife trips where the animals are seen in the wild. “I would not recommend this tour, the driver will bring you to uninteresting places with an entry free where he gets a commision. Unfortunately Munnar works like this and overall it is hard to find authentic places in the area. The first part of the tour through the tea plantations is good and the guide does actually a good job. But then there is a set of activities like Viripara Waterfalls and Tiger Cave which are nothing special, where you will just be dropped off and recommended to enter for a fee. The final stop is Anakulam, which is yet another very touristic spot, in which if you are lucky…”
Elefun Elephant Sanctuary in Jaipur: 3 hours of ethical elephant feeding, walking, painting, and (seasonal) showering, with hotel pickup.
“It was a wonderful time spent with a majestic and beautiful female elephant. The staff helps feeding the animal, gives hints on how to do it so that the elephant feels comfortable. We could also take it for a walk and spend as much time with the elephant as we wanted without any rush. It was a unique experience 🤗”
