“We loved our tour with Rajat to the Elephanta Caves. He had so much information to share with us and was able to answer all of our questions. He explained different elements of the Hindu faith, explained each statue in the cave and showed us the impressive engineering behind the building. We could tell he was very passionate about the caves and his faith. We felt safe and well looked after. He also took amazing photos of the group!”

“This should have been a fantastic trip, but the service was non existent. I booked a private tour with air conditioned vehicle. I was met with an old taxi with windows rolled down. The guide took me to the ferry dock and told me someone else would take me over to the island. That would have been ok, but…That person arrived with his group. What happened to private tour? When we got to the island, he handed me over to another guide who took me up the mountain and explained about the cave. “I joined this tour as solo. Although nine persons joined the tour totally. When we got on a ship and cross the Elepanta Island from the Gate of India Mumbai, we were excited because the scenery was good. On the ship on the way to the island during 1.5 hour, some persons bought snacks and fed to seagull. After we arrived at the island, we separated into two team with a tour guide. “A wonderful experience with my tour guide and the boat ride over and back was a wonderful and relaxing trip on a local boat. I didn't know that there were 122 steps up for the visit, but able to accomplish that with ease (and a few stops on the way). What wonderful cave carvings in stone and a wonderful explanation of the reasons and history of the caves. Great half-day trip that I would highly recommend.”

Speaking of guides, I was expecting one guide to accompany my group, but instead you get passed between guides (one to get you on the ferry and the other on the island). Having a guide on the ferry (70 minute ride each way) to point out landmarks and tell you about the history of Mumbai would have made this a 5 star experience.”
